The Incorporeal Fellowship Part III: The Conclusion

We’re back with the final installment of “The Incorporeal Fellowship”. We’re going to pick up right where we left off, so make sure you’ve read part I and part II first, otherwise...well...this won’t make any sense!

If you’re just discovering us, we’re prepping our readers for our next novel. It’s a departure from our previous series, and we’re thrilled to move into Science Fiction, a genre we’ve loved and studied for years--including with Ray Bradbury More specifically, this novel is categorized as a Space Opera, a subgenre of SciFi that emphasizes warfare, adventure, interplanetary battles, romance, and risk-taking. Think, Star Wars as a classic example of Space Opera.

To get everyone ready, whet some appetites, and introduce the people and places in the story, we’ve been exploring the mythology surrounding the universe in our blogs.

This history comes from a tome known as the Corpus Galacticum, a compendium of historical facts, accounts of unprecedented events, political stratagems, social and spiritual standards, and profiles of those who have made significant contributions to the known universe. These writings in the Corpus Galacticum are attributed to historians, astronomers, clerics, scientists, and also contain excerpts from the Galactic Ethical Conclave and the Annals of Inquiry.

We introduced the foundations and concepts of what led us to this story here. We also shared some ancient mythology from this universe here and here. We even had David, a pro VO artist, record himself reading the scrolls, and we put some video to it here and here. (part III still to come). And we introduced the main characters here.

Now we continue with the final entry from the Corpus Galacticum on The Incorporeal Fellowship. This entry comes from master historian Jahrahr Tuhlkeen.

PART III

INCORPOREAL TRANSFORMATION

Tarseus Prime had gone largely untouched by invaders and conquerors who had taken over nearby areas of the cosmos. This was due mostly to its inconvenient location far from the traditional interplanetary trade routes.

However, as resources in neighboring systems became depleted, scavengers took an increasing interest in Tarseus Prime. This fueled growing numbers of exploratory teams to determine the feasibility of invasion. Although incursion efforts were thwarted, the Fellowship considered that their presence on any given planet would impede universal oversight.

As such, they chose to utilize their combined Minding abilities to travel through the dimensional strings of Teos, and reside in the ether’s shifting strings as the need arose.

Consequently, the Incorporeal Fellowship came into being.

NESTOR AND POLIATE

In their state of incorporeal existence, they continued their task of halting invasions and averting chaos, but as time passed it became clear that it was not enough. More was required in order to establish rules of behavior and spirituality intended to enable civilizations across the known universe to find a common ground for bringing about overall balance.

It was at this juncture that two Minders rose above all others, and were drawn into the Incorporeal Fellowship for initiation.

Eriandan Harlaren was born on the planet Ziud, in the galactic cluster of Ontah. Eriadan possessed the most extraordinary mental powers, gifts that only the stars could have bestowed upon him. His young journey had resulted in the discovery of the HallandaHall Scrolls, and the eventual creation of the Talderon Ideals. The Fellowship anointed him NESTOR, based on the mythological being whose name meant “the one who enlightens” and, as ordained by the stars, he became the indisputable moral and spiritual guide for the known civilizations.

Caltha Milbek, another gifted Minder born on Dionysus, the moon of Dawnzehya Gleva, had come to prominence thanks to his military accomplishments. He had also authored a manual of military stratagems, based on information gleaned from an expansive invasive research into the minds of a myriad of aggressors. The Fellowship anointed him POLIATE, in reference to a mythological warrior known as “champion of freedom and protector of the weak.” He was ordained to assume military and secular command of the universe.

Thus, the Incorporeal Fellowship entrusted Nestor and Poliate with the establishment of rules of behavior, systems, procedures, and structures, intended to enable civilizations across the known universe to find common ground for bringing about spiritual, social, and political balance.

The Fellowship decreed that, in order to maintain stability, Nestor and his direct descendants were destined to become the spiritual leaders, and assume the mantle and name of Nestor, Supreme Pontiff of the Galactic Sanctuary, and Scribe for the Incorporeal Fellowship.

The Fellowship also decreed, in reference to the preservation of political stability, that Poliate and all of his direct descendants were to inherit secular command and the mantle of Poliate, with the corresponding titles of Director of the League of One and Supreme Commander of the Alliance of Stars.

PEACE

By the end of the 1st Century TE (Taldereon Era), the intended outcome set forth by the Incorporeal Fellowship had been reached.

The Fellowship Clerics deemed the simultaneous emergence of Nestor and Poliate to have occurred by divine providence and attributed this occurrence to the will of Ousía.

As such, they decreed that the balance of power in the universe should be shared between two leaders of equal rank.

Under this philosophy, spiritual, social, and political stability spread throughout most of the known universe over the ensuing five centuries.

And there you have it. The Incorporeal Fellowship was created, and they found and elevated two incredibly powerful Minders who established procedures and structures that led to centuries of peace.

What happened after the five centuries of peace?

Our novel tells you!

Stay tuned,
