It's Here! LA Times Festival of Books is This Weekend
Hello Readers!
We're back to let you know the LA Times Festival of Books (henceforth the FOB) is this weekend. We've got all the details below, and we hope if you're anywhere near Southern California you'll consider stopping by and saying hello because we'll be there selling our books and taking it all in. The main FOB website is here.
It's gonna be a great time this weekend! |
The FOB kicks off Friday night the 19th with the Book Prize awards ceremony, honoring the past year's best literature. You'll need tickets for that, but it'll be worth it. There are over 60 nominees in 13 different categories, including Palestinian activist and writer Rajah Shehadeh, comedian Maria Bamford, and novelist Yiyun Li. The ceremony starts at 7pm and tickets start at just $20. If you want to get invited to the after-party, you can get a VIP ticket for $75.
Saturday is where the main festival begins. General admission is free, but there will be over 100 panel discussions starting at 10:30am which require tickets. They are either $6 or $10, and there are some big names included in the panels. George Stephanopoulos, Henry Winkler, and Rupaul will all be discussing their work throughout the day. You can find a list of all the panels here. We recommend bookmarking José Andrés and Tommy Vietor.
We're exhibitors this year at the FOB. We will have a booth with all five of our books for sale on the main festival grounds, including our newest release, An Educated Death. You can find us in the Gold Zone at booth #144.
We're the second exhibitor listed! |
Sunday will be more of the same. Grounds open at 10am, and there will be panel discussions all day, including one we're interested in on the Oaxacan influence of Los Angeles. David Mamet and Tiffany Thiessen also will be featured on Sunday.
So whether you wish to wander the grounds meeting authors and browsing books, listen to top authors discuss their work, or bring your kids to the children's stage to meet Blippi, there will be something for everyone. It's the largest book festival in the country, and we're so thrilled to be a small part of it.
We sincerely hope to see you this weekend!
Until next time,
